What do you think about when you hear the word VISION. Most of us would naturally think seeing something or maybe how each one of us “Sees things.” Why we are at it, “How do YOU see things?” Of course, we all see things from our own view of the world. Our own perspective. (Try seeing it from other’s perspectives) Do you see things as the world really is or do you see things as you WISH they would be? Be careful how you answer this question because too many of us go through life seeing the world as we WISH it would be. Meaning, we want the world to conform to OUR thinking and not as it really might be. (Reality) While thinking of your vision, be careful to think realistically.
- You can’t control your circumstances but you can change them if you set a positive vision.
- You can’t control how other people treat other people. We see this every day of how people hurt other people.
- You can’t think about what other people think about you. If you worry about that, you will be held back into very shallow thinking.
- Finally, you can’t control what other people do and say. Remember, they have their own problems so don’t think you need to be like them.
In my recent studies, I have learned that each of us need our own personal vision for living the life we desire. God has given us the freedom, the heart and a brain to allow that to happen. Life can be difficult but only if we let it become that way. It is up to us and our attitude toward life that will either allow us to enjoy prosperity or live in a constant state of despair. (Remember we either have an abundance mentality or a scarcity mentality) Which direction are YOU going today? You have the power to change it you think about it. Harken back to our comments on what is IN your control. If you think about those things that you CAN control you might find that it is easier to see a more clear vision which then allows you a strategy to rise above your own perceived problems in life. Those include; the choices we make, what we say about ourselves, how we treat other people and finally, how we react to those things life throws at us.
Vision actually gives us directional intent in our lives. See if some of these resonate with you when you think about your OWN vision:
- What you keep looking at decides where you will go.
- You will always move toward the most dominant image in your mind.
- Proof of your desire is called pursuit. What are you in pursuit of today?
- Champions do daily what the average do occasionally. For you sales people out there, you had better find a way to influence others. Learn more about WHO you are and WHO you are becoming. That might take some doing if you lack social skills or are too in love with yourself.
- Habits are the seeds of purpose sown daily. If you are not practicing your trade or trying to grow and improve yourself by changing your habits and behaviors, the world will pass you by.
- Most of us decide our future by the daily disciplines that we have adopted. Hopefully they are good ones.
- What you do daily decides what you become permanently.
- Your calendar and your checkbook reveal what you value most in life. Are you giving anything away or are you just spending to please yourself?
- If you are failing at something, you can rebound within 24 hours by simply adopting a new habit and consistently practice it for at least 30 days. Try it. It just might be the way to handle that New Year’s resolution.
- Read biographies of great men and women and adopt their disciplines. You might just find you have similar skills and talents you never even realized.
What is YOUR personal vision for your future? Think about what you wish for, your desires and dreams. But make it realistic and attainable. Try thinking about your own Faith, Family, and Career. Once you think about it, take action by figuring out what you need to make that dream come true and have somebody hold you accountable. Just make sure your ladder is parked on the right castle.(The right environment) Remember, the way you see your life shapes your life. Look for the positive things around you. This will help provide you direction in everything you do. Make sure it includes accountability to someone. Be intentional about living a good life. You will need that empathetic mentor to help you.
To be intentional, start writing down your own personal journal of YOUR vision. Then keep track of what you are doing to fulfill that vision. FOCUS by writing down something daily and then allow yourself the time to reflect and rejoice in your results. It just might be a life changing experience which all started with a GOOD vision.
