A Life Well Lived

MARCH 18, 2022

TRIBUTE

I just returned from my hometown of Kearney, Nebraska where I spent a couple of days seeing old friends. Our purpose was to honor and celebrate the life of one of my best buddies growing up in Kearney from 7th grade. Ronny was one of kind and had reached the pinnacle of success as HE defined it. He was Adventurous, Fearless, Generous, Loving, Genuine, Creative, Annoying, Goofy, Fun, and had a warped sense of humor. He enjoyed watching his close friends “Squirm,” only to end up lifting them up in the end.

Ronny knew who he was early in life because he never forgot where he came from. He was strong physically, mentally, and spiritually. He had a HUGE heart and respected everyone. He always measured everyone by the size of their heart and not the size of their bank account. Opinionated and often stubborn, he believed in himself (and others) and found clarity in life, earlier than most of us. This clarity led to impacting others in many profound ways by building the largest concrete operation in the area.

Ronny taught all of us that Life isn’t always fair, but it is still good. He was the first to “Step Up” when the times were the toughest. He also knew that tomorrow would be a better day. To him, life was all about your individual attitude and it was important that, if you were working for Ronny; you would find out WHO you were and what you were made of; whether you could keep up with him; and whether you could meet the life challenges he threw at you. He taught us that, “what doesn’t hurt you will make your stronger.” Ronny showed everyone that life was all about your; Faith, Family, and work; in that order. Ronny just never quit working and dancing, even to the end, because that is what he loved.

I hope all of you honor someone important to you in your life. It will be an experience of a lifetime that just may open your eyes as to the beauty, goodness and unity of people who go from good to great. Ronny lived simply; Loved deeply; Laughed often, Learned habitually, Listened (once in a while), Led humbly, and Left a lasting Legacy. “A Life Well Lived’ by giving God the Glory.

R.I.P. Ron C. Blessing. It was OUR blessing to have you in our lives.
