Use It Or Lose It

SEPTEMBER 1, 2023

We have often talked about success in many of our Elevator Guy remarks, but success is personal, dynamic, and significant for each of us. I would like to start this week’s remarks with some of my favorite quotes.

  • “The secret to success is to find a need and fill it; find a hurt and heal it; find a problem and solve it.” Robert H. Schuller
  • “Nothing ever becomes real until it is experienced.” John Keats
  • “Allow yourself to grow a deeper spirit through your experiences and the people you meet.” Anonymous
  • “You can have everything in life you want if you will help other people get what they want.” Zig Ziglar

Each of us grew up (or not) in different parts of our state and nation. You may have literally been cheated your entire life and it’s not your fault because you were never trained in how to use your mind or your heart. So how can you possibly succeed? Have you ever had a course on “Why people do the things they do?” I would guess that for 99.9% of you out there the answer is “NO.” We have no idea why we do the things we do and have no idea WHY anybody else does the things they do. And yet, we are still supposed to succeed. Could we be any more clueless?

If you are interested, you may want to check out my new book, “Brotherhood of Men” (shooting for an October 1, 2023, release) which will provide you with tools, strategies, and techniques to gain an ultimate life advantage in understanding the human mind and heart. Your elevator guy, ( accused of having only half a brain) has no doctorate degree in psychology or any advanced studies. Just 75 years of “life and love experiences,” where my life has been blessed with great brothers, mentors, and “women of worth,” along with a positive spirit and the ability to learn from those we love and that love us. “Remember, “Life was not meant to be lived alone.”

To be successful, count your blessings and then use your mind, body, and spirit to succeed at your given task. Make a difference in the lives of others with your faith, family, and career, and your life will be fulfilled. Before you do, answer these four difficult but important questions.

  • WHO are you and who are you becoming? (Self-Actualization)
  • Are you on the right path? (Your Journey)
  • WHO are you taking with you? (Your Relationships)
  • What is your endgame and are you prepared? (Your Legacy)

Blessed and grateful for the people God put in front of me in my own journey of life. How about you? (That’s a challenge)
